Default Golf Cart Battery Issue

Hi guys, I have a situation where I have one battery in a battery pack that has failed and has some sulfation on the terminal. Why would just one battery fail though, wouldn't they all fail if the charging process wasn't correct? all the other batteries in the pack have good voltage and SG readings.

Thanks guys!

every now and then we get a bad apple in the bunch.
proper PM usually catches this before its a real issue.
IE does it always need water when the rest dont,
do you check voltages before, during and after charges?

Yep, pretty good maintenance program in place in line with manufacturers guidelines

That battery failed. I have seen brand new set of US Batteries have two fail in the first two months and the other four about 6 months later. All warrantied but still failed.

I purchased a set of 8v Trojan batteries in Nov. The SOC would not get over 50.0. Used the cart and did charging cycles on it still now better. Checked cells with a hydrometer and #6 battery had a dead cell. Replaced under warranty.
Even new batteries can be defective.

SOC now 51.7 after 12 hours off charger.
