Default 2000 DS 48v - bonehead short of pack reinstalling gauge. Now Reverse but no forward

Finished installing new LED light kit and DC to DC converter, tested lights, all good. Putting dash back together, the 2 leads for the analog battery level gauge touched. My bonehead move for not disconnecting the pack again after testing the lights.
Replaced the fuse in that line, and now everything works except no forward when depressing the pedal. Solenoid is clicking in both directions. Reverse works just fine. Neither of the 2 3/8 amp fuses were compromised.
Any quick ideas before I start troubleshooting the controller circuits?
Thanks.

What type of drive system do you have? Toggle switch, or lever forward and reverse? Tow/run switch?

This one:
Going to have a close look around the F/R lever to see if I inadvertently knocked a connector off while pulling the harness for the lights. Thanks for responding.

Series cart. Most situations in a series cart that moves in one direction, but not the other it will usually be the forward and reverse switch. Especially if the solenoid is clicking in both directions. I don't think shorting the battery meter had anything to do with it. Try slightly moving the forward and reverse switch a little to ensure good contact.

Happy ending. Just a loose connection. All good now.
This cart sat dormant for a couple of years, so it's pull and clean all the contacts.
