Welcome to the furum! I went through this a while back. If you have a harbor freight nearby, go pick up a "universal joint removal tool" for about 10 bucks, or a claw puller will work also. Others have used a tuning fork... It will come out with a good bit of force, so be careful!

Good Luck!

Welcome to BGW

you can get one of these at any auto parts store, or HF

Or one of these

"pickle fork" --made for the removal of the tie rods.

Try this first...... Put you wrench on the part of the joint a wrench actually fits lol, spin it to loosen it up, screw the nut on to it, hit it with a dead blow and it should pop out. Mine always does. Just saying....... Best option is a pickle fork.

This works,,,, I was in the woods with out many tools and needed to swithch ball joints and this friend showed me a trick, he used a screwdriver to aply small presure to the joint and lighly tapped the connecting rod three times and it came right out,, I didn't beleve this, but he took a 2nd one out the same way. I've quit using my pickel fork (it sometimes damages the boot) and have taken them out this way in my shop now

yes the fork works, but you often mess up the rubber boot. the tool rib showed is the best answer. not expensive.
