My cart has a date-code of B0808 (Aug-2008 ) while the motor is dated 04/28/07.
Apparently the motor set around for about 16 months before being installed, or Advanced might do some creative date coding on their motors like Trojan does on their batteries.

My guess is that your 881 is a 98 or maybe a 99.

There are actually quite a few components in my 2008 dated for 2007. Not sure why it takes so long to put them in.

If you don't make every part and you outsource to get the parts to build then they will never be the same year.
Boats have a date on the hull but that just tells you when it was assembled the engines are almost all made in Mexico (in Boards) and can sit for a couple years before being installed in a Hull.
