TXT wire heating up
'01 TXT 36v non-DCS (judging from the wiring diagram on this site). Cart operates/runs with no obvious problems, but under stress or constant use, one of the wires from the motor (A2 terminal) to the panelboard? (C terminal) is heating up badly causing a smell also. Tested batteries, all checked out good. Went through wiring and have found no obvious damage/nicks (though I may need to check again) and connections are tight. Any ideas? Replace the wire? Cart runs okay as I said, but electric cart with hot wire/smell can't be operating properly. Don't want to damage something by continual use.

Re: TXT wire heating up
Welcome to BGW
first I would NOT drive this cart untill you get this fixed, could cause a fire. how old are the cables?? sounds like a loose connection, or bad/old cables, need to be replaced, could be old or dirty FR switch |

Re: TXT wire heating up
Cables in question are original as is the FR switch. Guess I should start with cleaning and tightening all connections (again!) then move to the FR switch from there?

Re: TXT wire heating up
From there a heavy duty f&r switch cam and upgraded cables to at minimum 4 gage.
