Default Precedent body - paint or replace?

Been thinking about refreshing my precedent. I've yet to find anything that will polish/shine the plastic body up good and it also now has some scars on one side from when my son turned it over and some battery acid ran down the side. Can these bodies be painted at all or is it better to just buy a new body and swap it out? I'm wondering if any paint would crack, chip and flake off due to the flexing of the plastic.

This might have something to do with your charging time question in your other post. (Charging time-3 month old batteries)

I don't think so - he turned it over a week or two after getting the new batteries - and it was since then that things seemed fine up until recently. They are still fine - it's just that it seems to take longer to charge. The run time is still better and the power is still better than before. And very little acid came out of the batts when it flipped over and they have needed very little added since then.

check specific gravity in all battery cells. Might tell you more about their condition, post flip/spillage.

I wouldn't paint. New bodies are easy to obtain. I've had good luck cleaning the bodies with rubbing compound followed by a cleaner wax. Just a little elbow grease can make it shine once again.

If you really want to replace your carts body, by all means go ahead. I wouldn't paint it. After 1 year, it will be so chipped, and flaked, it will look worse that before.

I just bought 2 factory new bodies and installed them on precedents. WOW, what a difference. I had the typical golf course plain beige before, now I have a bright red one and pretty green one. Both are flexible, colored all the way thru, and the body installs in about half hour. Very easy!!

New body cost me 400.00. And I can control the delivery, much better than taking cart for a paint job.
