Re: 2003 Club car DS Runs then slows to a crawl
Hi David,
I did see the question and I did check the pedal. It works fine. It seems to have no slop in it at all. The parking brake works fine. Could this be a bad MCOR and a bad controller? Thanks again for your help. |

Re: 2003 Club car DS Runs then slows to a crawl
One other thing. If the cart has been resting for a couple of hours, it seems to operate normally for 200 to 500 yards and then it slows to a crawl. We can let it sit for a while and it will do the same thing again: run normally for a few hundred yards then slow down

Re: 2003 Club car DS Runs then slows to a crawl
I doubt you have an MCOR problem. You have a throttle linkage problem that's keeping your MCOR from turning up all the way. Remove the MCOR, remove the drive bar. Cut a piece of 1/4" Fuel line or equivalent about 1/2" long and slide over the forward most part of the fork of the drive bar that fits around the base of the accel pedal. Re-install the drive bar with this "Spacer" and check throttle signal again. This should take the extra slop out of it. You should see wide open throttle on your meter now. If the problem still exists after the throttle is fixed, replace controller.

Re: 2003 Club car DS Runs then slows to a crawl
Hi David,
I removed the MCOR from the frame. With the MCOR off the frame but still plugged we put the drive bar in the MCOR and turned it. It measured just over 1100 ohms. I made a spacer from a piece of fuel line as you suggested. I put drive bar back with the spacer and put the MCOR back on. The resistance went up to 1390 ohms. Just for kicks we decided take it for a drive. We drove about 3 miles with no issues. If it continues to not malfunction, we will replace the pedal components underneath the cart. Thank you so much for your help. |
