Talking Hunting Cart Expectations

Hey All,

Just got my 2003 48 volt DS back from a once over it has new batteries (crown) 6 inch Spindle Lift jakes, Heavy Duty Springs Front and Back, new bushings, step sides, voltage reducer, 12 volt outlet, and diamond plate cargo plate to switch with rear seat. It will be a hunting buggy during deer season, possibly turkey and for family in off season. What should I expect from this buggy? Any upgrades to get more power? It is stock, should I upgrade controller/motor? Thanks for your help.

I would for sure upgrade the controller since you now have a lift. More amps= more torque, which is needed for a lift. How does the cart drive now? I would assume since it is stock that it slows down on hills with the lift installed...

It drives fine but you are right it slows down on hills! Can I just upgrade controller and be fine with everything else?

You can just upgrade the controller is it a 48 volt system or 36 ? , I would get a super duty solenoid (36-48 volt)if it is 36 volt system , so that in future if you upgrade to 48 volt you already have the solenoid
But since you just got new batteries , ( I assume there 6 volt and if you have a 36 volt system)why not get 2 more and do the change over to 48 volt now ? , Also did you up your battery cables to 4 gauge you need to do that ,

I agree, upgrade the controller for more torque on the hills.
