2005 Precedent, voltage light not functioning
I just bought what I believe to be a 2005 CC Precedent. Took it out for the first round of 18 yesterday. The cart was really struggling at the end and ended up having to tow it home.
The voltage warning light never engaged. Could it be just the bulb or could there be another issue? I obviously will be getting new batteries soon. Outside of Trojan, what are good 12V batteries? Not really interested in doing the conversion. |

How old are the batteries?

Also the two connection pins that go to the light might be unhooked behind the dash.

Re: 2005 Precedent, voltage light not functioning
Not sure how old the batteries are. I'm about to pull them and check. If I had to guess, I would say they are either the original batteries or more than 5 years old. They have not been maintained well before I took possession of the cart.
I was a bit concerned that I lost power without the voltage light warning me, so I will check to make sure it is connected. |

Make sure the cells are filled with water as well.

Yes, did that right after I got the cart. The batteries were not properly maintained before I got the cart.

Sounds like you're in the same boat I am with the 4- 12 volt batteries. My golf cart dealer pushes NAPA batteries and my car dealer friend swears by Interstate batteries. I think I'm going with the interstate batteries when I buy new ones in the next couple months.

Re: 2005 Precedent, voltage light not functioning
I've priced around a lot. Seems like everyone is around the same price. Have not priced Interestate yet, but priced Trojan, US Battery, Napa, Deka, and a battery from Bumper to Bumper.
I did get quoted a Napa battery that was a "Group 24" (assuming it is GC-24) that was only $85. Seems cheap, and looking at the dimensions, a bit small. I'm probably going to have to purchase 1-2 batteries at a time. Dropping that much on 4 right now is not happening. |

I would try my best to buy all the batteries at the same time. Mismatched batteries can wear them down faster.
If you are going to get batteries that are mismatched, consider getting used ones in good shape and save money over new until you can save up for all new. |

I think by the time that light comes on you are already damaging the batts
