Honda GX670 install issues
Ok..After replacing the coils and ignition switch and creating a new wiring harness, I am back in business with a great running motor. I have the motor installed and was able to take the cart for a quick jaunt around the block. I am having a few issues. The biggest is that with the motor at idle the cart actually rolls. If I adjust idle low enough for the cart not to roll, the motor runs poorly and stalls. This would not be much of an issue in and of itself but with the motor running , I cannot switch the cart to reverse or neutral. It switches fine with the motor off. I am hoping there is some adjustment that I can do that will help. Any ideas?
Also, does anyone with a similar motor have pictures of the throttle/choke connections at the motor? Thanks in advance |

Re: Honda GX670 install issues
I am not sure even how to tell. The clutch came on the motor with the cart. According to the PO it worked well. Would a picture help?

Re: Honda GX670 install issues
I have had same issue with stock clutch with my GX670. The gx670 happy spot in idle is 1200-1400 rpm....this can be right where the stock clutch likes to start to engage. There might be some adjustment you can do to the secondary clutch.

Re: Honda GX670 install issues
Thanks everyone. I will check belt tension. Also will post a pic when I get back home. I suppose worst case, I need to buy a new clutch. What would be recommended for my setup. 85 EzGo with Honda 24hp gx670?

Re: Honda GX670 install issues
Ok..Here is a photo of the clutch. I did loosen the belt and the rolling at idle is much better. I still have an issue with shifting between forward, reverse and neutral when the cart is idling. It seems to shift ok with cart off and sometimes with the cart running. Iwatch the rocker (by the diff) when it doesn't shift , the rocker is held up, if I rock the cart back and forth it shifts to the correct position . I hope that makes some sense. Is there a way to service/lube/adjust that rocker?

Re: Honda GX670 install issues
I think that's a stock EZGO clutch, and this may be what you need. Call Tom at CCP to make sure.
