Lateral movement in throttle pedal
I've got a Rattlesnake II on the way and am trying to get the cart in top shape for the new motor. One thing that has been bugging me for a couple of years now is the throttle pedal has a side to side movement like some kind of bushing is worn out. It has never caused a problem but I'd like to fix it regardless. Does anyone know what part would be worn in the assembly and where I can get a replacement? Its for a 1992 DS. Thanks in advance!
Also second question, my wife has been nagging me to give her half speed reverse back. I upgraded the cart to SS with Scotty's kit from resistor. It has always had full speed reverse, which with the new Rattlesnake, is going to be worse than before with the stock 36V motor. So again, not an issue for me, but gotta keep the missus happy! |

Re: Lateral movement in throttle pedal
Is the pedal rocking side to side or actually sliding side to side?

Re: Lateral movement in throttle pedal
If the pedal is "wobbly" when you shake it with your hand it is the accelerator pedal bushings. When you shake the pedal there should be almost no movement so you have to judge. Depending on how much is rusted out underneath it can be a pain to install. There are 2 of them made of aluminum and the shaft attached to the accelerator pedal runs through both of them, ending with the pawl at the end which locks your parking brake. They are not hard to find, and I'm sure they are not very expensive.

Re: Lateral movement in throttle pedal
Pedal is rocking side to side not sliding. The base is good and solid. The top of the pedal just kind of flops to the right.

Re: Lateral movement in throttle pedal
You'll need two 1011694 accelerator bracket and bearing assemblies and one 102026001 Accelerator Pivot Rod.
