yes i know, but i did one of them from my phone and was having problems adding to the other one so i made a new one. the voltage regulator on mine now is a gold box with 3 terminal posts on the right side. Is that the correct VR for a 4 cycle marathon?

As I learned to my chagrin, check all the connections in your wiring harnesses, checking for loose or corroded connectors.
As for your original question, the impulse coil provides the signal for the igniter box to fire the plugs. Also, grounding is critical. Sometimes the metal under the bracket that holds the voltage regulator, etc., will rust where it is bolted to the frame.This will interrupt the ground to the voltage regulator, etc. It may be intermittent. |
