1995 had two different setups..... For the 1st 16 weeks they used a 0-5K V-Glide. For the remainder of the year you could either get a 5K-0 Potentiometer or a 5K-0 V-Glide. The first 16 weeks of this year is the ONLY time you'll see a 48V Club Car with 0-5K throttle control. It's actually the exact same V-Glide switch used in the 1993-1994 Solid State Controller 36V Cars, which operated on 0-5K. After the 16th week the signal changed from 5K-0 and has been that way ever since.

I need to just stick with ezgo's, lol. I'm pretty confused now. I did some looking at alltrax and it looks like there are only 2 options for throttle types in that year. 1996-older 0-5K throttle and 93-newer with 5k-0 3 wire throttle. So if I just tell him to see if the throttle has 3 wires or 2 wires coming out of it would that be a safe way to get the correct parts?

Bowslayer,

I have a 95 club car and it has the 5K-0 potentiometer in it. I used a multi-meter to test it, Scottyb gave me some pretty good instructions on how to check it and it only takes a few minutes. Maybe have your friend test it quick to make sure you order the right controller.

Dang Dawg! 3 throttle outputs in one year... is that a woman run outfit?

Since the 0-5k & 5k-0 V glides would look identical, the only way for the average Joe to identify which throttle output he has would be to test it with an ohm meter at the controller input. Here is another thought which might simplify things. Use an SPM control from Alltrax, it has at least 7 different throttle inputs in it's software and will automatically select the one that matches your cart.

No I think you're thinking of E-Z-GO.

In all honesty, I think there was a lot of experimenting going on in 1995 since it was the first 48V car. Once it changed to 5K-0 it never changed back. The 1995 car built after week 16 is identical to the 1996 and all other series cars built to date.

Can we get a serial number?

I'll drop him an email now and get him to send me the serial number. Thanks for all the help.
