Default Do 1995 and 1999 DS's share same parts?

Hi, I own a 1995 DS, S/N A9541-466488, which has some body and front right suspension damage (bent spindle) but mechanically is still sound. An individual where I live owns a 1999 DS, S/N A9919-762630, which has a good body and suspension but doesn't move (they assume the motor is bad, we'll see about that.....). They are offering to sell me the 1999 for $300 delivered. Assuming both carts are mechanically stock will my 1995 motor, controller, etc be the same as the 1999 DS and could I swap my 1995 mechanical's into the 1999 cart without much trouble (no rewiring, etc)?

Thank You,

Tim in Peachtree City

The suspension is the same

Assuming both are 48v series, I think the 95 controller could be 0-5k. The 99 is 5k-0.

Are you wanting to get both carts operational?

It was around the 15th week or so in 1995 that CC went from 0-5k to 5k-0. Assuming that they are both 48v series cars, all the electronics should be the same

Only looking to get the 1999 operational as it has much less wear and tear. The 1995 will be for parts to get the 1999 working again

My 1995 is 48 Volt and my serial number A9541 puts me at 41st week of production so hopefully my controller is same as 1999 (i will crawl under and check the PN on my 1995). I have only seen pictures of the 1999 Cart so don't know for sure if it is 48 Volt but now that I know the electronics might actually swap between the two carts I will go and put eyes on the 1999. I didn't want to bother the owner until I was sure there was a good possibility of it working out.

Did 1995 and/or 1999 DS models come from the factory in anything other than 48 Volt??

They should be identical. The only other electronics in 95 were 36v. In 99, they had 36v and Regen 2 electronics

Ptc_tim just buy the 99 regardless. I'm in newnan and am sure you can get the 99 going with minimal effort. I have a lot of stock take off stuff from when I do upgrades and builds. 300 bucks is a deal

Agreed. I just bought a 95 DS for $750 a few days ago. It runs and drives but need batteries + probably another hundred or so in misc. parts

Worst comes to worst, you can part out the 99 for more than $300
