Default Recommendations on motor for medalist

I got a 95 medalist and currently has stock motor but I want to put different motor in ! Problem is im not sure what I see motors all the time on Craigslist !! Don't need anything crazy but my motor smokes on start up and instead of rebuilding it I figured I would just find a bigger motor and take some time cleaning it up and getting All my parts together while I still use the motor that's in the cart for this summer !! Any suggestions on what I should be looking for ? Thanks in advance

Look in the Big Block Section to find what you are looking for. That's where folks talk about their experiences with motor swaps.

You can also call CT rebuilds. They make a drop in engine that's hopped up and depending on your budget, may be a good choice. Search the threads and you'll find their number

Smoking on start up, well I would keep the motor that is in it and do nothing to it, unless you are using that as an excuse for a bigger engine. Now if you are wanting a bigger engine that is OK to tell nicie little wiffie your engine is smoking a need another.

Funny ! I'm defiantly on the fence about swapping out motors since this thing only smokes a bit ! Probably be a lot cheaper to throw a set of rings in this motor or adjust the valves !!

All joking aside, I wouldn't even put new rings in. As said I wouldn't do anything but run and enjoy it.

Just do a valve adjustment and a basic tune up and run it.
