Default Power to dcx500

What do I need to do to get power to the controller for reprogramming? I think it's something, like remove some cables, turn on the key, and press the the throttle.

If it is installed in a cart, you power it up the same way you power it up to drive the cart.

IE: Charger disconnected from cart, Run/Tow in Run, Key ON and F/R in either F or R.

Unlike series carts, the pedal does not have to be pressed to power up the controller in a DCS or PDS cart.

On the benchtop 18v is suggested.
I have plugged two 9v batteries into each other in series (+ to -) and get 18-19 volts total.
Currently using a 5 cel RC lithium battery which gives 21v.
Don't use too little voltage (like a convenient 12v battery) or you run risk of the program stopping in mid process and locking up. Locked up control will need factory reprogram. Don't ask me how I know this
You can use a 250 Ω or 470 Ω resistor to precharge the control and avoid zapping the control to life. While recommended it is not manditory
Below is a pic of my power adapter for DCX controls.
Follow the instruction below.
