Default Keep the top or ditch it?

I am rebuilding a 74 D4 Harley Davidson that has the top bracket still on - fabric cover is almost completely ripped off. I like the looks of it off - any suggestions/views on keeping it or going topless? - I am in Arizona so rain is not a worry - the sun can be brutal but......I like topless.
I have not seen fabric or fiberglass tops listed in the parts sites for this model - is the only option to have a upholster shop make a custom one if I choose to keep?
I am wondering if this top was an aftermarket - it has a bracket on the middle bar that passes over the dash but was never attached ....
Does having top increase value?
