F/R switch
96 ezgo txt 36 volt, I had to tow this cart home replaced the solenoid car started to run fine. then stopped noticed that the controller was getting hot along with the cable to the F/R switch. Looking on line for a switch and the only one that looks like the one in the cart is for a club car. Its a switch that mounts just like a club car with one micro switch.
Is it possible that someone put a club car switch in a ezgo? |

Re: F/R switch
after thinking about this cart all night, I'm going to post what I found.
This morning I took the 2 batteries out from the passenger and found 3 of the 4 cables rubbed on the battery box, showing copper wires. The cable from the solenoid to the motor welded to the battery box. The other 2 cables that went to the motor only had a bare spot showing. My thinking is that when driving the cart 1 of the 2 wires shorted out on the battery box and since the 1 was already welded to the battery box it made the cart act like it wanted to go into reverse. Does that sound like it could happen or am I off base. Anyway I made a new cable for the one that was welded. Then I made 2 rubber boots and tie wrapped them to the cables that had a bare spots. Test drive and all is good. |

Re: F/R switch
I will be replacing the other cable in the near future, My supply of cable was low, very low. I was lucky to make the one that I did. I need to find a good vender for cable in bulk. maybe one of BGW sponsors.

Re: F/R switch
Crash test, I don't know how to post pictures. But I do know how via text. So if you give me a number I will send a picture. Or at least the one I have with the batteries in place.

Re: F/R switch
The rotary switches from all the series carts operate on the same principles. I don't see why that wouldn't work.
