Default new motor does not fit

I have a 1987 EZ-GO shuttle. I bought a new Admiral B1 that just arrived today. I started to put it in and noticed that the inner part of my motor is about flush with the motor casing. However, the inner part of the new motor sticks around 1.5" beyond the motor casing. Can anyone help with the problem? Did I order the wrong motor, is there an adaptor to fit this problem?

This is like my last weekend to work on the cart before family comes in town the next 3 weekends and I was really hoping to have her running before they come.

We have a very long front yard, and I saw the UPS lady really struggling to carry it up to the house. I stopped mid-pee to go meet her when I looked out the window and saw her struggling

Looks like they dropped it alright. I hope you got the armature back into the bearing. I mark all 6 sides FRAGILE and heavy. Unfortunately this is not completely uncommon. I wish the manufacture would address this with some type of banding.
