Default What Gauge wire for S1 / S2 ?

As I am looking at the old cables from my 99 TXT DCS (Sepex), getting ready to build new ones, I am finding that the S1 and S2 cables appear to be about 10 gauge wire. Is that sufficient, or should I go ahead and make up some 2 GA cables for those as well?

Unless your upgrading the motor and controller, the size is fine as is. For the batteries I would still recommend 4ga cables

The controller is 500 amp Alltrax, and the motor will upgrade in the future, but is stock now.

If the are in good physical and electrical condition, 10Ga cables to the field windings of a SepEx motor is usually sufficient.

If they need replacement, 8Ga is thick enough.

IIRC, the max Field Amps out of an XCT is 30A.

The highest field amps I've ever recorded with my high-torque/standard speed aftermarket motor is 25.7A.

FWIW, my Curtis controller on torque mode, the field max is 25 amps also. This is running a custom wind D&D torque motor.
