Default 88 Marathon No-Go

Need you guys help! I知 trying to help the neighbor out with his 88 Marathon. I know nothing about these carts but from reading here this is a resistor cart. Batteries are July 2016 but have been sitting since the August 2016 flood and I have them charging now.

This cart was flooded and sat in 3 ft of water for a couple of days. In looking at it initially I found the key switch was bad so I have it jumped out right now. I also changed the solenoid and it is clicking now when I push the pedal but still no-go.

I know the pack is not fully charged but I wanted to try it. Pack voltage drops from 36.5 to 8 or 9 when I push the gas. I値l try again once the pack is fully charged.

Could the motor be seized up? I壇 appreciate if you guys could give me some troubleshooting tips for this one. Thanks.

I would definitely test the motor first. There is an easy way to test it by connecting it to 12 V. With my experience we have flooded carts in Georgia, some motors survive, and some don稚.

Batteries are too weak to turn the motor with weight on the ground.

At 34v the batteries are COMPLETELY discharged. 0,nada.

It's on jack stands but you are probably right. I'm giving it a full charge today. At this point, I'm thinking the batteries are toast. They are boiling like crazy while charging.

FWIW, I did the same thing at 37.1v and got the same result. I'm going to try the 12V test tonight

It drops to 6 volts when the solenoid clicks. . That 36 and 37 volts you see is just surface volts, Not true volts. Clean all ALL connections, they're all dirty . But I think 1 or more of the batteries are toast. Put 3 - 12 volt batteries in there to test the cart to see if it runs

Definitely need to clean it up. I am going to hook up a set of jumper cables from my cart to this one tonight when I get home
