Default Marathon vs TXT Rear Spring Bushings

Got a dilemma. I need new rear spring bushings for a 1979 electric Marathon. The springs, bolts, and bushings appear to be the same as a TXT gas or electric. EZGO specs different bushings for the TXT than the electric Marathons. However, the ID and OD are the same. It appears the only difference is the Marathon bushings are long enough to touch each other when installed and don't use sleeves over the bolts to fill the bushing hole. The TXT bushings need sleeves to fill the hole on the shackle bolts. The TXT front spring bolts are the same diameter as the Marathon front bolts.

It looks like the only difference is the TXT bushings are shorter with the same OD and ID. TXT bushings can be bought in kits that make them immensely less expensive than buying 12 individual Marathon bushings.

Has anyone else substituted TXT spring bushings on a Marathon?

By the way, at least one online parts vendor claims the Marathon bushing will work on all leaf spring Marathons and TXT gas/elec 1995+.

I am pretty sure it will work and i also think i have done it myself. shame i dont have a marathon anymore as i have a box full of TXT spring bushings i could try out for you.

Not sure if the marathon ones were a softer compound though. Something is niggling my memory here. I say just try it. What is there to lose?

If worried about the length, maybe cut a few spares to sit in the middle to take up the space.

Not too worried about it, just looking for more opinions than my own. The TXT bushings look like an evolution of the parts for the same application really. A few months ago I installed a new kit on my TXT. Wish I had a bushing left over to measure. I have the rear suspension out from under the Marathon that is turning into a trailer. The bushings were crumbly black and hard. The front shoulder bolts have enough rust and wear they are getting replaced too.

The design looks really stupid on the Marathon where you have to remove the sheet metal around the bagwell just to remove the top shackle bolts.
