Timing plate doesn’t look too bad!

I agree don’t go crazy in the grease. I was being a bit sarcastic. But I disagree with oil on the shaft and around the edge of the seal. In a dusty or wet environment oil isn’t a good corrosion inhibitor or lubricant for very long. It doesn’t have the ability to suspend the dust and will eventually either lose its lubrication or wash away (or both).

A coating of quality grease is going to prevent corrosion for a longer period and will actually help “seal” the edges and surface.

Well I received the clutch puller today and ended up trying an impact after a hand wrench wouldn't budge it. I keep wacking with hammer in between impact, but all that is happening is the puller is now bent.. Is there a trick to removing?

You may have to heat something to break it loose.

maybe that thing lived a hard life but ive pulled several of these and never needed heat. ive always used a top dead center tool to hold the engine and long 1/2 ratchet. get the puller tight as you can smack it with a hammer, try to tighten it some more with ratchet then smack it a couple times with a hammer and that usually knocks it off. is the engine still in the cradle?

yes, engine still mounted to cart. When I use a breaker bar, it feels like something inside clutch skips and I have to turn it another complete turn to catch again.. It's not the engine turning over, it's something inside clutch housing.

Maybe the tool is stripped and just spinning inside the crankshaft

Seal is out, however, according to manual, I should be looking at bearings. I'm not seeing any and don't want to reassemble if not done yet. Does anybody know what I'm looking at?
