I just looked at my G9 which should be the same. Starting at the shifter they go down and under the generator, then turn to passenger side over top of cradle frame tube under gen. There is a loop on top of tube that holds them (almost under the battery cables bolted to gen), then they go back down side tube of cradle near bottom of fuel tank. There is another loop/tab on frame at next tube at front of trans that holds cables and they turn to trans. Then ends go to shifter arm on trans. You have to tighten cables against each other this makes it stay in gear and get stiff between gears, you have to set it so it shifts comfortably but not too hard or not to easily so it stays in gear. You have to center it so it goes into gear even forward or reverse, or just a hair more into forward imo, and is between gears in center of shifter travel. If you jack one rear wheel off ground you can turn the wheel and feel where at shifter travel it hits the gears, or turn the secondary clutch by hand, to get it in center and engage each gear fully. Make sure you start by getting the cables on the right side so it shifts forward when shifter says forward. The engine runs so top of clutch and belt will move forward when running; primary clutch spins CCW. If you move the top of the secondary forward in forward gear, the cart should move forward. An easy way might be put the trans and shifter both in forward and then start your install, they should match up right. Its pretty important you get it adjusted right at shifter so it shifts easily but stays in gear with a little pressure, and it is centered between gears in middle, you may need to fiddle with it some and use it a little before it stays right and then it rarely needs anything. You could lube the shifter shaft that helps mine work easier, I do that every couple years.

Pics of shifter, cables go to where I am pointing.
Pic of cables from rear view turning into trans.
Pic of cables at trans shifter.
This is all with cart in Forward gear.
Ignore the clone engine in there.
