Default ez go rxv charging question

Hi everybody

Few days ago, I bought a 2009 rvx for part the guys told me he was pretty sure controller was shot. Long story short, i put my batteries in in and it run just fine !!! the problem I found is the charger receptacle green ligt always stay on, sure enough the cart doesn't run and doesn't charge.
the thing is, when I unplug the gray wire from the battery, the cart charge just fine. from what i remember, the gray wire is a temperature wire. my question is can i leave it unpluged like that or it's dangerous. I'm asking because charging receptacle are around 150$ round here and this cart is for my brother and he doesn't have a fortune to put on it.

thank you

Julien

It's not "dangerous", chargers charged carts for decades without the charger knowing what the battery temperature was.
