You are fine, but You got a 100 amp shunt so that is the maximum current You will be able to read.

The shunt goes between the pack negative battery post and the first cable.

The shunt should also be installed in series with the battery cables, not any of the Motor cables.
What size shunt would I need?

Not sure what 'in series with battery cables' mean exactly. Instruction showed wires attached to load (motor)

Instructions advise wires go to the 'load', which I assume is the motor. If not, then what is the load???

As Sergio stated, the shunt goes in the negative cable from the batts. That should include all loads, motor, controller, reducer ect. If wired right, it will also give you charging and any regen amps too! But you DO realize that a golf cart can easily draw 300-400 amps on takeoff and 100-300a on hills.

LOL ..... NO, that is the problem, I am just learning all this stuff and do not have a background that covers it Then I assume I would need to CUT and resplice the ground cable?

Depending on where you mount the shunt, you just need to make another cable to go from the shunt to the controller or battery post.

Between the 10-11 minute mark he shows the diagram on back of meter in which is shown the shunt going into the neg side of 'load'. I understand the load is the motor. My original question was which post on the motor is the NEG and POS, since there are 4 post ..... 2 on top, and 2 on the end of the motor?

The word "load" in this context is anything drawing power from your battery pack.

Just wire it like the picture in Amazon link you provided ( on the pack negative):
