Newbie questions
So bought my first cart. Its gonna be my winter project. Have a few questions cause I'm new to all this.
When I looked up serial # is comes up 2000 txt 36v. It has 6 batteries can I just add 1 more and make it a 42v? Im gonna put all new wires on it and a controller will this be noticable difference? Control recommendations? Cart has f/r under leg and no switch on box so assume its DCS. It will be our cart for the campgrounds and running people to the boat ramp. With that said I will be putting rear seat on and lift kit and tires. Do I need to put HD springs in the rear? Am I asking to much out of this cart to be able to tow 3 people and coolers a mile to the boat ramp at a decent speed? Sorry for all the questions just figured knock it all out at once!!! |

Re: Newbie questions
A good prospect for the job. The DCS makes a fair amount of torque and speed.
This cart should do what you are asking assuming DCS with a good motor, tires not too big ( 22 or less) healthy 42v batteries, XCT400 controller, 200 amp solenoid, 2g cable set. Top speed 20-23 mph |

Re: Newbie questions
What amp charger would I need to get? Or would going to 48v and 6 8v be a better options.

Re: Newbie questions
If it is a 2000, it's a PDS rather than a DCS. Also, no switch (Run/Tow) on "box" (controller cover?) so it may be a series drive.

Re: Newbie questions
Series drive has the shifter by your knee vs. a rocker switch next to the ignition switch. Motor will have S1, S2, A1, A2, instead of F1,F2,A1,A2, and no run/tow switch on the controller cover.

Re: Newbie questions
Sorry to hijack this post. But I have a 95 medalist DCS. My motor has S1, S2, A1, A2. Do I have the wrong motor. The cart seems to work fine. I am upgrading the controller to a XCT400DCS and heavy duty solenoid.

Re: Newbie questions
Yep mine is series. So if i keep it 36v and just upgrade wiring and put a curtis 350 controller on it would it make much difference? Also should I do 20 or 23 on tires? Trying to stay on a little bit of a budget.
