Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
Looks to me like the axle is bent on the passenger side. Common from hitting something. Old style square but either of the old style will work. If you can’t find one reasonable let me know.

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
Putting things back together here and looking at the brake assembly. This cart being a shuttle, it has a separate parking brake. Cable driven. Primary brake is hydraulic.
The cables on the parking brake are rusted shot and I was looking to replace, however instead of replacing the parking brake can swap out the non-parking brake for the brake with a parking brake combo and use the hydraulic brake as a parking brake? Will the assembly work? Or was this cart designed this way for a specific reason to not keep the hydraulics under pressure. The original brake pedal # 70413-G01 . The brake pedal assembly w/ parking brake is # 70263-G01 The OEM for the parking brake cable is 70716-G04 . Finding the 70716-G03 easily and cheap but .... G04 is not as easy and 2x's the cost. Seems to be the same length . What's the difference? http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...022_121056.jpg |

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
Any help would be appreciated... I realize I do have an uncommon cart.
The cables on the parking brake are rusted/shot and I was looking to replace, however instead of replacing the parking brake cables .... Can I swap out the brake for the brake with a parking brake combo. This would allow me to use the hydraulic brake as a parking brake? Will that configuration work, or was this cart designed this way for a specific reason to not keep the hydraulics under pressure. Are these parts universal for operation in these carts? The original brake pedal # 70413-G01 . The brake pedal assembly w/ parking brake is # 70263-G01 If that won't work: The OEM for the parking brake cable is 70716-G04 . I'm finding the cable part # 70716-G03 easily and cheap but the OEM G04 is not as easy and 2x's the cost. Seems to be the same length . Anyone knows the difference? |

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
Can’t comment of the difference between the cables.
Personally I would stay with mechanical cable parking brake. This set up gives you a emergency brake should hydrolic brake system fail. Same reason auto’s still use this set up. |

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
The passenger side wheel has a negative camber by an inch and the driver about a quarter inch. Is this something to worry about? Doesn't seem to be bent at the axle....

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
Wheel bearings tight? Do you have noticeable play when grabbing top and bottom of wheel when front end jacked up in the air?

Re: 1998 EZGO shuttle
Charging question.... Is there a reason I can't charge the pack by connecting the properly wired 48V pack to the charger directly...so I would take the pos/neg from the charger and connect it to the pos/neg from the pack?
I want to do this because I have batteries that are installed in the frame but it's going to take me a while to do all the other body work to get the rest of the wiring and body completed. The charger is a lestronic II and I was also planning to change the port to the triangle type, since I have an RXV with that port as well. |
