Default Tell me about spark plugs, noob.

A noob FAQs sticky would be nice. I'll start to compile all the stuff I am finding out.

I could look up plugs, but sometimes old style works better than iridium new styles, some people play with the gap. I know Yamaha outboards and especially older Johnson outboards are pretty particular = no new style plugs. I always used normal post NGKs. I don't know what the gap should be. On my outboard it has an aluminum plate with the data. I ussually go in the middle of the specs. Read the BPR2ES is a hotter plug, in my experience I only worry about hotter with 2 strokes, but maybe these are way better for carts???

What have you had success with and gets the motor running with no issues?

THANKS

I wont touch a spark plug unless it says NGK or DENSO on the side of it. Anything else is junk.

Yep I was wondering if the hotter is better. I assumed it had to be running a tiny rich to always start so well even w out choke, on a chilly <60 degree morning here in FL ;) My friends Yamaha rinho always needs choke below 60.
