As I found out by pulling the carb from this cart a couple of days ago it had a fuel injector and the carb it's self had no bowl. I completely cleaned the carb and ensured the tube port for the throttle sensor was also clean. I put everything back together and it seemed to have solved the problem with fuel smell.

The part your referring to is not a carb, it's called a "throttle body". Fuel injected engines have no carb, and carbed engines have no fuel injector.

Either way, glad you got it fixed up.

Oh Ok. Thanks. I didn't know that. I thought it was odd the cart wasn't labeled as an EFI on the side stickers like our 4 seater which is the same year. Is it possible it came with a carb and was changed to an EFI with a throttle body?

That would be a ton of expensive work. Whole new wire harness, computer, sensors adapted to the engine, fuel system, throttle body, generally not worth the conversion.

Took forever for me to get back...but thanks for all the advice on here. Like a few others, I had that occasional whine when first pressing the gas pedal on my cart. Mistakenly thought it had something to do with the clutches. Then someone directed me (and the original thread poster) to look at the starter and BAM! that was it.

New to me cart with new belts. It just just needed a little adjustment. Tightened it a bit and no more whines.
