Default Which REAR end oil to use?

searched on the forum and didnt see anything

2017 precedent electric. Figured any standard automotive gear oil would be fine in the rear end. Some people online say just use automotive engine oil 30W. But just wanted to check to see if there is something specific that is recommended. Actual automotive gear oil? Motorcycle rear diff fluid? Synthetic/standard? Like a 75/90 maybe

thanks

Get a bottle of this:

Pump it in with one of these:

22 ounces is about right. By the way, the pump will not fit the Royal Purple bottle. Get an old smaller spout bottle and put the Royal Purple in there to pump it into the axle.

There are a lot of experts here who say to use gear oil, and others say to use SAE 30 motor oil. Do an advanced search for rear end lube on this forum and you'll see every possible recommendation.

Here is a good thread:

It’s designed to run Sae 30 motor oil.
Gear oil is too thick and will rob power from the electric motor.
Full Synthetic gear oil like a 75-90 or something that is really thin can work, but some synthetic gear oils will thicken as they get hot.
