Default EZGO txt 48v slipping/jumping when going up hill??

Cart is jumping/slipping but only when climbing up hills? Anyone have any idea what may be going on?

Also I attached a pic of the cart…I have a D&D 502 motor with Alltrax XCT controller….how fast should this cart go with this set up?

D&D says the 502 has 40% more torque than the stock PDS motor and estimates a speed of about 14 MPH with stock height tires (18"), stock gears (12.44:1) and a stock battery pack (36V).

You more than likely have stock gears, however the 48V battery pack ought to up the speed from 14MPH to about 19MPH.

Looks like the tires are taller than stock, so the speed may be a bit higher, but the tires have an aggressive tread pattern and appear to be the low pressure type, so it may be slower.

Getting about 8-10 on flat ground…3 mph up a hill. Something isn’t right just trying to figure out what it is

When you say "jumping/slipping" exactly what does that mean?

Anything getting warm or hot?
Does the XCT's LED turn yellow when pedal is on floor?

Record a data log on level ground and up a hill at the continuous sampling rate, zip the .csv file and attach the .zip file to a post.

------------------
Also, the slipping/jumping might be striped splines in one or both rear brake drums. Pull all the hub covers off so the castle nuts on the axles can be seen and have somebody watch it while going uphill.

It ought to, so the question is why isn't it and there are dozens of possible reasons why it isn't.

All 10 of the high amp cables ought to be 4Ga or thicker. With the 502 motor, 2Ga is probably needed.

If any of the 10 high amp cables is getting more than about 10°F above ambient, it needs to be repaired or replaced.

What is the battery pack voltage 12 hrs after the charger shuts off?
What is the battery pack voltage when cart is traveling on level pavement at top speed?
What is the battery pack voltage while going uphill at top speed?

What is the voltage between the controller's M- and B+ when at top speed?

I will have all those answers Tuesday…but I do have 2 gauge cables…all the cables, motor, controller and batteries are brand new. Only thing not brand new is the cart frame and shell. I’ll update more on Tuesday
