84 CC DS Rear Swap
I have a worn drivers rear axle. Can I swap out the rear end with a newer one. I thought I read that there possibly was a power issue since it's a resistor cart.

Re: 84 CC DS Rear Swap
This is the Gas Club Car section. Probably get a better answer in the Electric Club Car section of the Forum.

Re: 84 CC DS Rear Swap
Should be the same. The really old axles had a different spline count on the input shaft. Somewhere around the early 80s they changed to a 10 spline input and they have run that all the way up through current day as far as I know.
The axle dimensions are the same otherwise, so you can take just about any newer axle and bolt it in. Just need to make sure you have a 10 spline motor so it fits the new axle. If your motor is not a 10 spline then you will need to find a newer motor as well. |
