Battery cables for Lithium conversion
My trojans from 2018 finally died so now have to shell out ~$3k for new batteries. Planning on going the lithium Eco Battery route, 105ah. I have a TXT. How many and what cables should I upgrade as part of the conversion? 2 or 4 gauge? Still running on the stock controller.

Re: Battery cables for Lithium conversion
If your OEM cables are in good condition, you really do not need to upgrade them. But if you want to upgrade and you are running stock controller, measure the lengths and get some good quality 2 or 4 gauge cables for battery pos and battery neg. There will only be those two high current cables since there is only one battery. I get mine from BatteryCablesUSA.com and they are good quality and reasonable price. Make sure to order the proper size cable terminal ends for the battery and other end.

Re: Battery cables for Lithium conversion
Thanks for the batterycablesusa.com lead. Looks like a good value for the quality of cables.
Pulled the trigger on the ecobattery skinny 48v 105ah bundle for my 2016 txt. I'm planning on replacing all cables during the conversion to 2g. Anybody knows how many cables and length will be needed? Probably 2x 12" pos/neg to controller 6" pos from solenoid to controller 2x 51" controller to motor? All with 5/16 connectors? |

Re: Battery cables for Lithium conversion
You need to figure out the measurements based on the battery specs and your cart. Not sure I would bother with the 6 inch cable. It's so short that it's not an issue for resistance. Check the battery terminal specs for the proper cable ends. You can probably make them the same as your old cable ends. Measure one of yours and the studs on the controller. Get the right size so that they fit well for the best connection.
