I consistently advise that going from 36 to 48v requires a smaller controller. Typically an Alltrax SR48400 (460 peak) on a series cart and XCT48400 (460 peak) on Sepex carts. Especially when you pencil in the higher voltage (51v) and MAD of modern lithium battery packs.
