Default Re: DS Solenoid, Volt Reg, or Reverse Micro??

I don't think I tested it at the battery. I know SOOOO much more now than I did when I was out where the cart is. I could have done a lot more tests if I'd known all this stuff. With the info I obtained on this site, I'm confident I'll be able to get to the bottom of the problem. I didn't have the wiring diagram then and I just really had no clue what was connected to what and how it all works together. Thanks to all who've posted on OTHER threads and to those who've answered my questions in this one. I'll keep you posted when I get back out there!

Thanks,
Steve

It'll be at LEAST two weeks. It's out at the river and we only get out there once a month or so. I have my iphone and now that I am aware of THIS site, I can touch base on that if I have questions once I get back out there. I'll definitely keep you posted. Thanks again for the help.

Ok I finally got back out to the river where the cart was and worked to get the starting problems figured out. I bought a new solenoid before going down there just in case that was the issue. After much testing and searching for wiring problems etc, I determined that the new starter has a dead short in it somewhere. So I put the old starter back in it and it starts, but it still has that 'laboring' behavior when it's trying to turn over the motor. I was not able to find any reason for the 10amp fuse at the solenoid to blow, and it did not blow this weekend at all. I guess I'll return the new starter in hopes of getting a replacement (we'll see) and then I'll put that back in and see how it goes. When the new one was first installed, it definitely turned the motor over with seemingly much less effort than the old one does.

Thanks again for all the help from this forum. It definitely helped me trace wires and circuits etc.

Let's get baxterbasics, is the S/G belt any good ? If the scamp is worn it will just slip around like a 3 inch dick in a 10cent tramps cavity and produce less than the required friction to get her running. Do you have a good powerful, sustainable energy source (battery) if not, replace it; finally; how is the compression within the bore ? On many occasions I have noted that a temporarily tight seal may fail due to ,,,,,,,,,,,, Err, outside factors !
