Default 1994 EZGO not firing

I got this from a friend and it will not fire. It has been setting in the weather for about 2years. Iam new to this site and look forward to meeting all of the people on here. It has a Robin Model EH290 motor. Thanks Stuart1966

Hey Stuart, welcome!

I don't really know much about the 4-strokes, but wanted to say welcome anyways.

Stuart, when you say it doesn't fire do you mean that it doesn't start or that the plugs are not firing?

The most common issue especially for a cart that has sat around is corrosion on the grounds. I would remove every ground, including those little black wires that go to the mounting plates for the regulator and the ignitor and clean the lugs and the frame to bare metal. If that doesn't work, open up the big connector from the ignitor and look for corrosion, there is also a two pin connector hidden behind the air cleaner so check that out. Finally check that with the ignition on and the engine cranking that you have 12 volts on the coil.
If that works great, if not come back and we can delve deeper.

that plastic 2 pin connector for the ignitor is real good for killing spark......you wouldn,t think so as its just a simple setup but it does.................
