i neglected my zerk on the driven(rear) clutch and it hung on the shaft, and when i got it off the shaft the bushing was siezed to the shaft. |

Re: Need more Torque?
i had the same problem so i put rings and piston in the motor. then i had cart parts plus do my clutch and i also ordered the heavy duty belt, i also did the k@n air filter and a bigger jet in the carb and it all made a world of differnce on the hills. it was money well spent

Re: Need more Torque?
Sometimes a hill is a no go.... It continues to bog down until there is no more speed....
The problem has existed since I purchased the cart. I have added the air intake, larger jets, free flow muffler, and clutch spring. Also, adjusted/modified the gov. Sounds like the plowmans clutch kit and a new belt would solve all the issues, no matter.... correct? |

Re: Need more Torque?
Dog, I would start with basic maintenance first. Compression test, tune-up, clutch maint. Wheel alignment, and wheel bearings, tire pressure, gear box draging or hard to turn, secondary clutch spring, shoes on the helix, etc.
Shouldn't be able to stop that car no matter what. Stop throwing money at it and find the problem. |

Re: Need more Torque?
Sounds like bad clutchs to me. Maybe jack the rear of you cart up and take the seat off and watch what they do? Then you can see if they are closing all the way or opening all the way. Mine had a bad bushing in the secondary and it wasn't closing all the way, therefore leaving you in a higher gear. Bad for going up hills.
