Re: Old timer-based charger: Diode(s) blown?
Yeah, where the output fuse or breaker is located varies a bit, but the basic design is the same on all the ferroresonant transformer type chargers, so it doesn't matter too much whose name is on the label, you can troubleshoot them the same way.
Same applies to the automatic ones with control board circuits, once you understand how the basic design works, troubleshooting can be done from a generic schematic. R:Base is akin to dBASE, and all I did was create things like query routines that would generate reports such as Maintenance Histories, PM Schedules and FDA Recall applicability. What I was doing was so far away from machine language that my stuff had to be re-coded by a programmer so it didn't take all day to run. In later years, I would import the data into Access to create a special report, or Excel if I just wanted to view the data from different perspectives for my own purposes. Since I've retired, I use Word Perfect, Firefox and Quatrro Pro instead or Word, IE and Excel, and avoid Micro$oft and Intel whenever possible. In fact, I have never bought anything other than a AMD based computer for personal use. |
