Leak under the differential, not sure of source. Cleaned area to see what shows up. Getting 2 different explanations on how to check fluid level. One shows fill port on right side facing rear to front but I don't see it. Another shows fill/drain as same hole. How can you fill from a bottom port? If you haven't guessed, I am not a mechanic.

elecric is the same plug that is in the pan. it only hold like 4 ozs of oil or so.
you fill it using a suction gun. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...mg.gbSUG-iuuo4 first couple of pics is what they look like. |

Unless you've changed it, your oil is 7 years old. Best bet is to drop the pan and replace the old oil. The pan doesn't have a gasket, so it's a possible source of leaks.

Re: 2006 ezgo txt 36v
electric TXT's tend to develop a leak from the o-ring between the motor and the diff housing around the input shaft. There is a gasket for the differential cover , it is EZGO part #15054-G1. Most just use a good rtv silicone once cover and differential mating surface are cleaned. A stock non posi rear uses 10 oz of 30wt oil, you put the oil in the diff cover and install it. A lot of people use a good quality synthetic. Make sure if using rtv it does not get in the cover bolt holes, this can cause the bolt heads to snap while tightening or worse crack the case.
Hope this helps. |
