It's still doing it. I still think it's the ITS but the controller is confusing me. I checked the wiring diagram that I got for series motor from Johnnie B. It shows a Curtis 1906 but I don't think that's what I have. It's wired differently and seems to work. I attached images of it. Can any one tell me anything about it. It looks rough shape but if original it is 17 years old. Any ideas would be great. I'd like to rule out other things before buying a new ITS for nothing. Can't keep doing money in this thing without results. Wife already giving me the sink eye.

That is not the standard controller (Curtis 1206) found in typical 97 TXT series drive cart.

You have a cart with a Curtis 1205-117 (400A - 36V) controller. Here is a schematic for it.

What is the cart's serial number? (Maybe we can find out what it was when it left the factory)

-------------
The ITS sensor is a lot more than just a coil. The second attachment is what is inside the little back blob of potting compound.

Any moisture that gets inside (The potting compound eventually gets cracks in it, so it isn't waterproof) will cause it to act strangely.

The corrosion on top of the controller could be causing problems, especially between the white and black wires. Those are the two that connect to the ITS sensor.

Also, there is an in-line connector between the Pedal Box and the controller that cause all sorts of problems when it gets wet or corroded.

What Johnnie said & it looks like you have about 15 years worth of maintenance to catch up on..... likely you have a poor connection some place giving you fits.

So looking at the correct wiring diagram they did have the wiring right before. So I wonder if the fact that I connected it according to the other controller diagram is causing issue. I'll correct wiring tomorrow if possible and see what happens. Kind of itching to do it now. It's amazing how addictive a cart can be.

Here is how EZGO says your cart left the factory:

Search Results

Make: TXT
Type: Electric 36 V
Model: TXT with Lights
Year: 1997

No mention of the HD controller, but you sure do have one.

-----------
The routing of the high current cables is different, but I don't think that would cause a surging issue. Of course, I might be wrong.

Let us know how it works with the cables back to where they were.

Ok so I was checking things on it and it started working. Ride around neighborhood for 20 min and all good except for occasionally acting sluggish. Then it just quits. Acted like the batteries went dead all of a sudden but indicator said otherwise. However the usage did seem high. It used about 25% in that time but indicator could be off some idk. Any ideas? It just ADR (ain't doing right)
