Default Club Car 48v Powerwise2 #22110 3 wire charger on a 1991 Marathon

Hi Folks,

I am upgrading my 1991 EZ-Go Marathon to 48v (FINALLY). I was able to cheaply pick up a Club Car Powerwise2 #22110 48v charger. I have a 2 wire Anderson SB50 receptacle on my cart.

I understand the 3rd wire on the Club Car charger is a sensor wire but I seem to be seeing conflicting reports on how this works. If I connect that sensor wire to the negative of the battery pack will the charger work properly and shut off when the battery pack is fully charged or will it only turn off after a certain amount of time (I heard 16 hours) regardles of charge, thereby cooking the batteries?

Anyone know of a way I can wire this up to work properly and shut off when the battery pack is fully charged?

The control board for club car chargers are in the golf cart itself and not the charger. Without a control board the charger isn't going to work at all.

Interesting? I think the Powerwise only works in conjuction with Club Car OBC that tells the charger when to shut off cause batts are charged. I'm sure the pros will clarify.

No can do. The clubcar charger wont even turn on, and if it did (you 'rigged it to turn on), it wouldnt know when to turn off.

you would have to add this to the charger to make it work on an ezgo
