Default 1985 EZGO Carb Question, 2 cycle Robin

Hello I am new to the forum as you can tell and just recently got a 1985 ezgo 3 wheeler. I read through here and did a complete rebuild of this engine and got it up and running but on my first run I Adjusted the slow running nozzle which I dont think I was supposed to do anyways and it fell out somewhere UNFINDABLE on the trip?? The cart still runs but I am sure its not running like its supposed to. Is there any way to bypass this or is it absolutly required? I have a screw in there now. Thanks in advance.

All is not lost as you don't need that screw. The low speed by pass screw is for engines that idle and the 2PG in the golf cart does not idle, it is designed to stall when you take your foot off the throttle. When you look at the air map for the carburetor you can see that the screw is completely by passed when the throttle is open. I suggest that you close the hole off with some mastic and you will be good to go.

FANTASTIC! I had put a screw in it after reading these dont like air leaks and have been playing with the other screw to get the running as best I can. Any advice on setting that? I see the posts saying start at 1 and 1/2 but I always get mixed up. is one turn a single flip of the flat head or 2? I go 2. That and how to adjust the governor? It was completley off when I got the cart, hence the reason i'd say it was blown up lol! Bout the last steps I need after the rebuild I wound up with 135 psi compression and it runs so I was stoked!

Personally I say take the governor off. If a responsible adult drives, then the extra power shouldn't hurt anything, just dont be blasting at full throttle downhill lest ye over-rev the motor. I've heard many times over and over that stock these little engines cant really make enough power to hurt themselves.

I seem to maybe have the carb set wrong? The engine never hits the governor or it is I and I don't realize it just thought the cart should be much faster than this? Or will it run faster after the break in oil goes to the lean mixture? Any ideas? It also seems faster in reverse.

Running better in reverse is never a good sign. Did you put the piston in the right way?

The square hole goes towards the intake side.
