Default EZGO TXT 2002 Rebuild

I just bought an ezgo 2002 txt with series motor. I plan to use this cart for the deer woods and hunting. I live in Louisiana so hills and rough terrain are always a possibility, as well and swamps and bogs .

I want to put a lift and tires on it but, is there any recommendations you have on spindle vs axle lift? One more rugged than another? Also what is the best tire size to speed ratio, I would like to have the available torque for the woods but as well as run 20-25 when I need to. Is there an axle upgrade for a high low scenario where you can change on the fly?

My current thoughts: I plan I upgrade to D&D motor, a 500 amp controller, HD F&R, HD solenoid, convert from 36v to 48v, run 2 gauge wires for batteries, paint buggy, lift, tires, light bar, rear seat and front basket.

I welcome all comments and recommendations!! I will keep the pictures coming as I progress along the build. Oh yea, I'm new to the forum so if I step out of line let me know!

I just built almost the same buggy. 48 volt, 10 hp motor, reversing contactor, big solenoid, 6 inch spindle lift, 25 inch mud tires and new batteries. I feel like the tires are too big and have too much rolling resistance. I am guessing about 16 mph. I have about a 6 mile range in the woods, but I can climb any hill we have on the lease. This thing is a lot of fun...

jacannon have you done an upgrade to the controller? Also when you upgraded to 48v what did it require in the sense of changing the charger out? What brand did you go with?

Ok, yesterday when I got home I stripped the plastics, wire harness, and controller off. I have a few rusty spots that will need some sand blasting. But overall the carts is pretty solid.

Does anyone know if this motor I have will run on a 48V setup?

Also does anyone know if upgrading the wires from the controller to the Motor (A1, A2, S1, S2) will give me any advantage? One of the wires were damaged so I will have to replace. If going larger will help I will do that from the beginning.
