Solenoid
Searched but couldn't find exact answer. I bought a new solenoid for my 87 cc and not sure which way it goes. (If it even matters) New one came "S" and "I" next to large studs. Old one has no markings. Need help. Thanks.

Re: Solenoid
The big wires go on the big terminals, small wires on the small terminals. Other than that it doesn't make a difference, you're just completing a circuit.
But you may have another problem. S and I marking makes me think you have an automotive starter solenoid. Those are NOT intended for continuous duty and won't last long on a cart. Did you get it from an auto parts store? Or was it incredibly cheap compared to the majority of listings you see on golf cart parts sites? There is a reason for the correct solenoids to cost more - even if the look very similar on the outside. |

Re: Solenoid
It was the cheap route... It was from a cart parts supplier though. I'll have to reconsider putting this on and maybe find another one. Thanks.
