Does any know how to disassemble to top end of the KF82? I have got the flat head top off and have removed bolts for the cylinder, and I can not get the cylinder off. Just wondering if it is corroded with junk and that's why its stuck or am I missing something else?

At first look of the piston and cylinder, everything is snug and with zero play. Although when I turn the crank over there is one position were it almost feels like the rod is separating from the piston. Any input would be great thanks.

I just did a top end rebuild on mine and you're not missing anything. The cylinder should pull right off. Just the rings are holding it in there.

I'm guessing that bump in your rotation is the rod loose on the crank. But break it open and let's have a look!

Thanks for the help!!
if you have a gx390 motor already, I would not hesitate to pull the trigger and do the swap. it will be cheaper than trying to fix the old flat head. (ask me how I know) and you will be much happier with the extra power you will gain. also parts for those Honda motors and Honda clones are everywhere. not to mention all the performance parts for them if you want to go all out!

you can buy mounting kits where you can literally just bolt that gx390 in your cart without much modification. vegas carts has everything to do this swap. you can still use your stock clutches and the factory starter/generator. have a look here:

So UCM did you find out what the knock was now that you've tore into it? Was the rod loose on the crank?
