I certainly agree as well. However, the last time I was in the electric motor shop, the technician made the comment that there was a clear difference in component quality between OEM and cheap aftermarket. Basically, his assessment was a rebuild is possible if the core unit was OEM but it really wasn't worth it if it was a cheap aftermarket unit and needed something like an armature.

Another reason that we'll likely go back to OEM for the next starter/generator that we need.
