Default '93 gas club car carb adjustment

i have a '93 gas club car. there are 2 adjustment screws on the carb. what are the factory/original adjustments? and, what is the best procedure for adjusting the screws/mixture for optimum performance?

Not sure honestly, but I can tell you out of every carb I've replaced I've never touched the adjustment screws on them lol, save the occasional adjustment to make sure the butterfly is closed all the way when you release the pedal. Not sure what you mean by optimum performance but unless the carb is acting up or someone really messed with it I probably wouldn't do anything to it IMO

the engine 'surges' at about 1/2 pedal, even when its in the 'run' mode, so i know its not the governor. interesting enough, after about 5 mins., it seems to smooth out.

Hmm does not sound like a carb issue, sounds like an adjustment somewhere like a cable to the carb or from the pedal

When mine did that I put a new carb, new accelerator and gov. Cable didn't help. I put larger main jet in carb.
Fixed it!

FYI: The governor is still in play if the drive belt is turning the rear (driven) clutch. The governor works off the transaxle input shaft, so if that clutch is turning so is the governor.
The two adjustment screws on those carbs really don't come into play on most golf carts. The idle screw is usually backed off pretty much all the way on a cart that's set up to start and stop by the gas pedal - there really is no "idle". The mix screw is for low speed (near idle) fuel / air mix and carts really don't usually spend much time in that range. Most come with that mix screw about 1 1/2 to 2 turns out, but I doubt you will see an difference.
On the other hand, if the carb is dirty & has residue restricting fuel flow that could cause your surging, particularly during warm up when the engine really wants a slightly richer mix.

surges are usually caused by lean mixtures. Running gas with 10 percent ethanol in it will cause a lean mixture in an engine that was originally jetted for 100 percent gasoline. Yes its that simple, enlarge your main jet about .002 to .003 and reap the benifits of a great running engine. Cold performance will improve alot too!
