Cc ds gas transaxle question
I recently purchased a Club Car DS rear end for the purchas purpose of putting it in my custom snowmobile engine swap cart. And I'm having some questions on which position the black lever should be in to make forward neutral and reverse to help me determine how to hook it up in my customized cart.

Re: Cc ds gas transaxle question
It's a clockwise, Unitized transaxle...
In most cases your sled engine might be counterclockwise rotation, Here is a pic of how the transaxle shifter is oriented for clockwise rotation. Just a note... you MAY have to use reverse as forward depending on the rotation of your engine! (Click pic to enlarge) FNRcableadjust2.jpg |

Re: Cc ds gas transaxle question
Thank you so much that's exactly what I was looking for, I had thought about just throwing it together and using reverse as my forward ect, however do you think since reverse is only a temporary gear that will hold up to the power of a 440 sled engine?

Re: Cc ds gas transaxle question
CC transaxles are pretty stout, but there's never any guarantees with the torture you may put it under!

Re: Cc ds gas transaxle question
Now according to this diagram, when the transaxle is in forward, the shaft is seized, or at least I can't turn it with my hand. Any ideas before I rip it apart and check it out?

Re: Cc ds gas transaxle question
It's easier to turn the axle hub by hand, then it is to turn the driven shaft to find out if it's frozen up or not!
A tid bit of info on the gear ratio... Forward - 11.8 to 1 Reverse -17.1 to 1 |

Re: Cc ds gas transaxle question
While in the forward gear I can turn the axle hub but the shaft does not move, I'm going to assume that it should turn when I spin the axle hub. If not then forgive my ignorance. And which side is the drive tire?

Re: Cc ds gas transaxle question
Sorry, I should have mentioned...
the opposite hub needs to be stationary while turning the other one, then the driven shaft should start turning. |
