48 volt reducer
I installed a 48 volt to 12 volt reducer today. Neg input right to the pack negative (driver side) and positive to the packs + terminal.
With the hot connected when I went to place the negative on the post it was sparking. My other wires, battery meter and main negative didn't do that. Is that sparking normal or is there something wrong with my reducer? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk |

Re: 48 volt reducer
Yes that is normal. If everything is hooked up right you will be fine.

Re: 48 volt reducer
And you would be much better off to run those as follows:
- Neg to B- (So OBC can account for the energy units) - Pos to Battery side of Solenoid (Both this and the Neg stays out the battery area and corrosiveness) And then hook your Neg's up last. If the spark is too much, just get an incandescent bulb and place it on the post and the cable to the bulb threads and after a few seconds, just remove the bulb and terminate the connections. |

Re: 48 volt reducer
I decided to get a different one with a key switch line. And also adding a fuse block and ground block just to clean up the wiring some.
